Daffodils

Daffodils - Ciaran Moore

Daffodils are a spring flowering plant which is planted as a tube and comes back every year in springtime.

They come from the amaryllis family of plants. There are different common names that are used to describe all or some members of this plant family, such as Daffodil, Narcissus and Jonquil.

They are very distinctive looking with their 6 petals and trumpet shaped corona.

Their artistic use goes back as far as ancient Egypt and Frescoes in Pompeii.
